Phenotype
Over-representation of PTC-containing mRNAs. Flowering time affected approximately 2 weeks later than wild-type plants in long-day growth conditions. upf1-5 also has narrower and more jagged rosette leaves than wild-type plants. In approximately 5% of the flowers, upf1-5 exhibits aberrant flower formation. Two or three flowers appear to be initiated at the same point, giving rise to the appearance of double and triple fused flowers. Sometimes new flowers are initiated within developing flowers, resulting in the formation of a series of distorted flowers at different stages of development. (Arciga-Reyes et al., 2006). Phenotype can vary with conditions
